Description: BACKGROUNDCommunicating the harms associated with alcohol use, both to the general population and to policy makers can be difficult. Stakeholders in early discussions, report that there is very little dialogue happening about the harmful use of alcohol among youth in Fiji. Although detailed WHO resources are available on the impacts of alcohol and WHO guidance exists on strategies to reduce alcohol-related harm, few communications products address the influence of cultural, environmental, and psychosocial drivers of alcohol use, and few resources are available in concise and visually appealing formats.In response to this challenge, the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific (WPRO) and the WHO Division of Pacific Technical Support began a Communication for Health (C4H) initiative to target the drivers of harmful alcohol use and promote evidence-based strategies to prevent alcohol-related harm in Fiji in late 2021 and early 2022.
